Kyle completed his Master’s degree in Applied Clinical Psychology at Laurentian University after completing his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Guelph. Kyle’s interest in psychology has also led him to pursue additional training in neuroscience, diversity, and the biological bases of human behaviour. A deep appreciation for and understanding of the human mind and behaviour has shaped Kyle’s journey in psychology.
He is passionate about empowering his clients and supporting them in taking control of their lives. He also feels very fortunate to be able to do this work in one of the most diverse cities in the world, Toronto.
Kyle has worked closely with children, adolescents, and adults facing neurodevelopmental, mental health, and behavioural challenges in his prior capacity as a behaviour specialist and currently as a Clinical Therapist and Assessment Consultant at Toronto Psychological Services & Research Centre (TPS). At TPS, Kyle provides supervised therapy and assessment services to children and adolescents ages 4 to 17 and adults ages 18 to 65.
Kyle’s firsthand experience working with clients informs his compassionate and individualized approach to therapy, ensuring each client gains the personalized therapeutic support they deserve. Kyle specializes in cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), cognitive-behavioural couples therapy, cognitive behavioural play therapy, emotion-focused therapy, exposure therapies, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and other mindfulness-based approaches.
Kyle primarily works with individual clients presenting with depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, sexual-related concerns, behavioural disorders, personality disorders, and a history of trauma. Kyle also utilizes dialectical behavioural therapy techniques in his work with individual clients presenting with borderline personality and substance use concerns. His work with couples generally focuses on rekindling intimacy and enhancing sexual communication, navigating challenging life circumstances, and working through infidelity.
Kyle firmly believes that how we think about the world affects our feelings and behaviour. He strives to create a collaborative and supportive therapeutic environment where clients feel empowered to take control of their lives and achieve their goals. Kyle prioritizes and keeps clinical research at the forefront of his clinical practice, consistent with his commitment to ongoing learning and professional development. Consequently, he constantly evolves as a clinician and has an excellent track record for working effectively with his clients.
Clients working with Kyle tend to appreciate his practical approach, which balances talk therapy with the application of tangible therapeutic techniques that yield results.
