Kyle Gardner is a thoughtful and engaging therapist who brings seven years of experience to his clinical work with children, adolescents, and adults. With a strong foundation in both assessment and therapy, Kyle is passionate about empowering clients across the lifespan to better understand themselves and navigate emotional, behavioural, and relational challenges with confidence.
Kyle completed his Master’s degree in Applied Clinical Psychology at Laurentian University, following a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Guelph. He has pursued additional training in neuroscience, diversity, and the biological underpinnings of behaviour, deepening his understanding of the mind-body connection. As a clinician, Kyle values evidence-based practice, cultural humility, and the importance of tailoring interventions to the unique needs of each client.
At Toronto Psychological Services & Research Centre (TPSRC), Kyle provides supervised therapy and assessment services to children (ages 4+), adolescents, and adults. His clinical work includes psychoeducational, ADHD, and mental health assessments, as well as individual and couples therapy. He is adept at supporting clients with anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, trauma, and behavioural and personality disorders. Kyle also works with clients around sexual functioning, identity, and intimacy-related issues.
Kyle integrates a range of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT), cognitive-behavioural play therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) techniques, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based strategies. In his work with couples, Kyle often supports partners as they navigate conflict, rebuild intimacy, improve communication, and heal from betrayal or disconnection.
Clients appreciate Kyle’s grounded, approachable nature and the structure he brings to the therapy process. He is often described as direct yet patient, practical yet deeply empathetic. His ability to blend insight with actionable strategies allows clients to experience meaningful growth. Ghia Townsend, MSc. C. Psych. PsyD, supervises Kyle’s clinical practice at TPSRC.
