Hanieh Salehian is currently eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) and has over 12 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families in both clinical and school-based settings. She holds a Ph.D. in General Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. Her work is grounded in a deep respect for developmental needs, individual strengths, and the healing power of the therapeutic relationship.
Hanieh is an integral member of the clinical team at Toronto Psychological Services & Research Centre (TPSRC), where she provides therapy to clients across the lifespan. Her approach is evidence-based and integrative, drawing from cognitive behavioural therapy, exposure therapy, schema therapy, play therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy.
Hanieh is especially known for her work with young children and their families. She has specialized training in early childhood intervention and is adept at using play, art, and developmentally attuned conversations to connect with young clients in meaningful ways. As both a clinician and a parent, she brings a grounded, relational lens to family dynamics and prioritizes helping parents build strong, nurturing relationships with their children.
With adolescents and adults, Hanieh supports clients facing a range of clinical concerns including anxiety, depression, ADHD, ASD, OCD, impulse control difficulties, personality disorders, and somatic symptom disorders. She is particularly effective when helping clients identify and shift cognitive patterns that may be undermining their well-being. Her therapy is both practical and reflective, equipping clients with tools for growth while honouring the complexity of their inner world.
New clients may initially experience Hanieh as reserved—but that impression quickly gives way to an experience of warmth, insight, and clinical precision. She is deeply intuitive and adept at identifying the core issues that drive distress, empowering clients to make meaningful and measurable progress. Her commitment to lifelong learning is evident in her completion of over 2000 hours of specialized psychological training since earning her Ph.D.
Clients appreciate Hanieh’s calm presence, thoughtful questions, and the quiet confidence that comes from years of meaningful therapeutic work. Registered Psychologist, Ghia Townsend, MSc. C. Psych. PsyD supervises Hanieh’s clinical practice at TPSRC as she completes the final requirements for autonomous registration as a psychologist with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO).
